Learn and Practice Mathematical Concept for Primary Classes

Mathematics is one of the most interesting subjects which is full of calculations, rules, concepts, shapes and many more. I have started a series of Mathematical Concept for primary classes with few practice worksheets which will help your child to understand the concept.

Topic : Addition

Concept

Addition means bringing two or more numbers or things together to make a new total. The sign used for Addition is "+" and is read as plus. The numbers we add are called as "Augend" and "Addend". The result of addition is called "Sum".
Augend: is the number to which the another number is added.
Addend is the number which is added to another number.
* Sometimes both  Augend and Addend are called addend.

Properties

  • Changing the order of the number during addition does not change the answer.  Example : 15+14=14+15
  • Zero added to any number gives the same number. Example 29+0=29
  • One added to any number gives the number just after it (Predecessor). Example 36+1=37
